⬇️ Installation & Setup

Install the free plugin from the WordPress repository (or upload the ZIP), then follow the steps below in order: each step builds on the one before it.

⚠️ Before you begin
  1. Install and activate WooCommerce first β€” the plugin depends on it for ticket payments.
  2. Check your server: WordPress 6.2+, PHP 7.4+, MySQL 5.7+, WooCommerce 8.0+.
  3. Take a backup of your site before installing anything new.

πŸ†“ Step 1 β€” Install the Free Plugin (from WordPress.org)

Pick one method. The easiest way is to install directly from the WordPress repository:

  1. Go to Plugins β†’ Add New Plugin in the admin dashboard.
  2. Type "ABP Tour & Travel" in the search box and press Enter.
  3. Click Install Now on the ABP Tour & Travel plugin card.
  4. Click Activate when the installation finishes.

πŸ“¦ Step 2 β€” Install by Uploading a ZIP

If you have the ZIP file locally (downloaded from your account on abp-team.com), use the upload method instead:

  1. Go to Plugins β†’ Add New Plugin.
  2. Click the Upload Plugin button at the top.
  3. Choose the .zip file and click Install Now.
  4. Click Activate Plugin to make it live.

πŸ”§ Step 3 β€” First-time Setup

After the plugins are active, configure them in this order so everything has the data it needs:

  1. Go to ABP Tour & Travel β†’ Configuration and set the tour label, slug and general settings.
  2. In the same Configuration tab open Dates and set the global date format, sale buffer and advance-booking window.
  3. Decide which features you need under Configuration β†’ ON/OFF.
  4. Create reusable Global Data β€” Locations, and (if enabled) Categories, Operators, Features, Additional Services, Traveler Forms, Guides, Why Book With Us and Resources.
  5. Create Ticket types and/or Seat plans under Ticket/Seat Plan that the tours will reuse.
  6. Open Tour Lists β†’ Add New to create your first tour and fill in its configuration tabs left to right.
  7. Publish the tour and place a test booking through the WooCommerce checkout to confirm tickets and seats work.
πŸ’‘ Recommended order of work Global configuration first (Locations, Ticket types, Seat plans, Categories) β†’ then tours β†’ then Orders. This way every tour can reuse already-created global data.
❓ Plugin not active? If you get a warning about WooCommerce, activate WooCommerce first. The plugin’s ticket checkout and payment flow rely on WooCommerce being active.

πŸ“Œ Applications

ABP Tour & Travel is flexible enough to sell tickets for almost any scheduled event or experience. Choose a Ticket Type model when visitors buy by quantity (general admission) or a Seat Plan model when every visitor picks a specific seat.

🎭 Events & experiences you can sell

Use case Recommended model
Concerts & live music Seat Plan β€” assigned seats by ticket tier (VIP, Front, Regular)
Theater & cinema Seat Plan β€” row/seat layout with reserved seating
Sports & stadium events Seat Plan β€” stands, blocks and seat numbers
Conferences & seminars Ticket Type β€” general admission by category
Festivals Ticket Type β€” day passes, weekend passes
Workshops & classes Ticket Type β€” limited seats sold by quantity
Guided city / museum tours Ticket Type β€” time-slot departures
Buses, launches & shuttles Seat Plan β€” vehicle layouts

  • Recurring / periodic tours (for example, every weekend)
  • Multi-location experiences using reusable Locations

πŸ“Š Dashboard

The Dashboard is the first screen you see when opening ABP Tour & Travel. It gives a live overview of your tour booking business β€” key metrics, today's tours, recent orders and quick shortcuts β€” all in one place.

πŸ‘‹ Welcome Banner

The top hero section greets the logged-in admin by name, shows today's date and summarizes what is happening with the tour booking business today. Two quick buttons are always available:

  • οΌ‹ Add New β€” opens the WordPress editor to create a new tour.
  • Orders β€” jumps straight to the admin Order List.

πŸ”’ Key Performance Cards

Clickable stat cards summarize the whole business. Each card opens the matching admin screen when clicked:

Card Shows
🧳 Total Tours Number of tours created. Clicking opens the Tour Lists.
🧾 Total Orders Total number of bookings/orders. Clicking opens the Order List.
🎫 Tickets Sold Total tickets sold across all bookings.
πŸ’° Total Revenue Total sales value in the store currency.
πŸ“… Booked Today How many bookings have been placed today.

πŸ—“οΈ Today Tours

The main column lists today's tours. Each row shows the tour, date and time and availability counts. Clicking a tour opens a popup with a live Seat Map (for seat-plan tours) or a Ticket Type Breakdown (for ticket-only tours), plus the list of bookings for that tour.

🧾 Recent Orders

The Recent Orders card shows the latest bookings with view tabs for the last orders and today's orders, plus an All Orders link that opens the full Order List.

⚑ Quick Actions (side panel)

The sidebar gives one-click shortcuts to the most commonly used screens:

  • ON/OFF Configuration β€” enable or disable plugin features.
  • Global Date β€” manage global dates.
  • Additional Services and Traveler Forms β€” shown only when the related feature switch is enabled.
  • Locations β€” manage reusable tour locations.

πŸ–₯️ System Status & Content Breakdown

The sidebar also shows a System Status card with the current plugin, WordPress, PHP and WooCommerce versions, plus quick tools to install WooCommerce, create the booking / tour-list / gallery pages β€” and import or remove the demo data. A Content Breakdown card shows quick counts of your content by type.

Tour list screen

βš™οΈ General Configuration

The General tab holds the identity and presentation of a tour: its title, featured image, description, gallery, and its classification (category, location, organizer) β€” plus the choice of how tickets are sold.

πŸ“ Core fields

Title The tour name shown in listings and on the tour page.
Featured image Main thumbnail used in the tour list and detail header.
Gallery / Slider Multiple images shown on the tour page; display as gallery or slider per the plugin setting.
Description Full description shown in the tour details section.
Short description A brief summary used in listings and cards.

🏷️ Classification

  • Category β€” pick from the reusable global categories (shown when the Category switch is ON).
  • Location β€” pick the tour's reusable location / meeting point.
  • Organizer / Operator β€” pick the reusable organizer (shown when enabled).
  • Features β€” highlight badges shown on the tour page (E-Ticket, VIP Access, Parking…).

🎟️ Ticket selling mode

Also on this tab you choose how the tour sells tickets, and whether multiple ticket categories are allowed:

  • Ticket Type β€” general admission by quantity (best for festivals, conferences, workshops).
  • Seat Plan β€” assigned seating; customers pick a seat (best for concerts, theaters, buses).
  • Multiple Ticket Type β€” enable to sell several categories at once (Adult + Child + VIP).
πŸ’‘ Imported global data When you create a tour you can import reusable global configuration (traveler form, additional services, FAQ, terms, why-book reasons, timeline) and then fine-tune it for this specific tour.
Tour general configuration

🎫 Ticket Configuration

On the Ticket tab you turn the tour into a sellable product: choose the selling mode, assign ticket types or a seat plan, and set price, quantity and per-order limits.

🧩 Selling modes

🎫

Ticket Type (general admission)

Customers buy a quantity of a ticket type without a fixed seat.

  • Tap the ticket type(s) available for this tour
  • Set a price per ticket type
  • Set total quantity (stock) per ticket type
  • Set min / max quantity per order and reserved stock
πŸͺ‘

Seat Plan (assigned seating)

Customers pick an exact seat on a visual layout.

  • Choose a reusable seat plan for the tour
  • The plan's ticket types are priced for this tour
  • Seats are numbered automatically from the plan
  • Availability updates live as seats sell

πŸ’° Price & quantity fields

Field Description
Price Selling price per ticket type for this tour.
Quantity / Stock Total tickets available to sell for the ticket type.
Reserved Extra seats held back from general sale (set aside without making them public).
Min per order Smallest number of tickets a customer can buy in one order.
Max per order Largest number of tickets a customer can buy in one order.
ℹ️ Where prices live The global Ticket Type only defines the label, colour, icon and seat prefix. The actual price is decided here, per tour β€” so the same ticket type can cost different amounts on different tours.

πŸ“‰ How stock decreases

Seats / tickets are deducted from inventory when an order reaches the status you set in Configuration β†’ General β†’ Booked Status. Paid orders therefore reduce the numbers customers see on the tour page.

πŸ—“οΈ Date Configuration

The Date tab defines when a tour runs. You can use one or several date types together β€” the plugin combines them into the selectable dates customers see on the tour page.

πŸ“… Date types

Type Use it for
Specific dates One-off events β€” pick exact calendar dates.
Periodic dates Recurring schedules β€” e.g. every weekend, every Saturday, weekly, monthly.
Date range Continuously available between a start and an end date (with off-dates excluded).
Off dates Exclude specific dates from an otherwise available range (holidays, closures).

⏳ Advance booking & buffer

  • Advance booking β€” how far ahead customers can book (from the global date settings).
  • Sale buffer β€” a minimum lead time before a date so you don't sell too close to departure.
  • Global formatting, sale buffer and the advance window are set under Configuration β†’ Dates.
πŸ’‘ Combine types A tour can run every weekend (periodic) but be closed on a specific public holiday (off date). Add both, and the closed date is automatically removed from the calendar.
Tour date configuration

⏰ Time Configuration

The Time tab sets the starting time(s) for a tour. If a tour runs several times a day (for example, daily guided tours at 9:00, 12:00 and 15:00) each time is added here.

πŸ•˜ What you configure

  • Start time β€” the departure / start time for the tour.
  • Multiple times β€” add several start times so customers can choose a slot.
  • Duration β€” the tour length, shown to customers on the tour page.
ℹ️ Time works with dates The times you add here apply to the dates configured on the Date tab. Customers first pick a date, then a time slot, then their tickets or seats.

πŸ” Multiple time slots

Each time slot is sold against the same ticket stock or seat plan unless the tour uses a seat plan per slot. Use multiple slots to sell the same experience several times in a day.

🧰 Additional Services

Additional Services are optional add-ons a customer can buy alongside their tickets β€” meals, merchandise, transfers, guided extras and so on. Each service has its own price and can be imported from the global list and customised for the tour.

🧩 What a service contains

Title The service name shown to customers (e.g. β€œBoxed Lunch”).
Description Optional detail about what the service includes.
Price The amount added to the booking when the service is selected.
Quantity / Limit How many of the service are available (e.g. limited merch stock).

πŸ“₯ Import & customise

  • Create a reusable list once under Configuration β†’ Additional Services.
  • Import those services into any tour and adjust the price / quantity per tour.
  • Disable a service for a single tour without changing the global list.
  • Customers select available services during checkout; the total updates live.
πŸ’‘ Turn it off if unused If you sell no extras, switch Additional Services OFF in Configuration β†’ ON/OFF β€” the tab and its fields disappear from every tour.

πŸ“‹ Traveler Forms

Traveler Forms collect information from the person booking (and their guests) at checkout β€” such as name, e-mail, phone, age or any custom field you need. You can define a global form once and import it into a tour, then customise it there.

🧩 Building the form

  • Add fields and choose their type (text, e-mail, phone, number, date, select, textarea…).
  • Mark fields as required or optional.
  • Set a label and placeholder so customers know what to enter.
  • Reorder fields to match your booking flow.

πŸ‘₯ Multiple travelers

When a booking includes several tickets, the form collects details per guest (where configured), so you have a complete traveler list for each booking.

ℹ️ Global vs. tour-specific Configure the reusable fields under Configuration β†’ Traveler Forms. On a tour you import the global form and can then add or remove fields for that tour only.
πŸ’‘ Not needed? Turn Traveler Forms OFF in Configuration β†’ ON/OFF to skip collecting guest details entirely.

🧭 Timeline

The Timeline tab adds a time-by-time itinerary to the tour page β€” a clear β€œwhat happens when” schedule that helps customers understand the experience before they book.

πŸ•˜ Timeline entries

Each entry is a small step made of a time, a title and an optional description. Add one entry per moment in the itinerary:

  1. Time β€” e.g. 09:00.
  2. Title β€” e.g. β€œMeet at the entrance”.
  3. Description β€” a short line describing what happens.
ℹ️ Enable the section first The Timeline section only shows on the tour page when Tour Timeline is switched ON in Configuration β†’ ON/OFF.
πŸ’‘ Reuse the itinerary If many tours share the same itinerary, keep a canonical version and paste it into each tour's Timeline β€” or copy a tour to clone its timeline along with everything else.
Tour timeline section

πŸ§‘β€πŸ« Guides

Guides are the people who lead your tours. Create reusable guide profiles once under Configuration β†’ Guides, then pick one or more on each tour. Guides are shown on the tour page and each guide also gets a public profile page.

πŸ‘€ Guide profile fields

Name The guide's display name.
Photo Profile image shown on the tour page and profile page.
Designation Role or title (e.g. β€œSenior Tour Guide”).
Company Optional organisation the guide belongs to.
Bio Short biography / introduction.
Website & social Links to the guide's website and social profiles.

πŸ”— Assigning guides to tours

  • Enable Tour Guide in Configuration β†’ ON/OFF.
  • Create guide profiles under Configuration β†’ Guides.
  • On the tour, open the Guides tab and select the guide(s) for that tour.
  • Guides appear below the timeline on the tour page, each linking to its own profile page.

❓ FAQ

The FAQ tab holds the frequently asked questions shown on the tour page. Build a reusable question bank under Configuration β†’ FAQ, import it into a tour, and add or remove questions for that tour.

πŸ“ FAQ structure

  • Each entry is a question paired with its answer.
  • Questions are displayed as an accordion on the tour page.
  • Order questions so the most important ones appear first.

πŸ”„ Global vs. tour-specific

Import the global FAQ into a tour to inherit every global question, then customise that tour's list independently β€” the global list is not changed.

πŸ’‘ Turn it off if unused If you don't need FAQs, switch FAQ OFF in Configuration β†’ ON/OFF and the tab and section disappear.

πŸ“œ Terms & Conditions

The Terms & Conditions tab holds the booking terms shown on the tour page. Maintain a reusable global version under Configuration β†’ Terms & Conditions and import it into any tour.

πŸ“ What to include

  • Booking and cancellation policies
  • Refund and rescheduling rules
  • Entry requirements and age restrictions
  • Any venue- or tour-specific conditions

πŸ”„ Global vs. tour-specific

Import the global terms into a tour to start from your standard policy, then adjust it for that tour if needed. Changes stay on the tour and never modify the global text.

ℹ️ Enable the section Terms & Conditions show on the tour page only while Terms & Conditions is switched ON in Configuration β†’ ON/OFF.

⭐ Why Book With Us

The Why Book With Us tab adds a trust-building section to the tour page β€” a title plus a set of reasons (icon, title, description) that explain the value of booking with you.

🧩 Structure

Section title The heading shown above the reasons (e.g. β€œWhy Book With Us”).
Reason icon An icon or emoji that illustrates the reason.
Reason title A short headline (e.g. β€œInstant E-Ticket”).
Reason description A sentence explaining the benefit.
ℹ️ Enable the section This section shows on the tour page only while Why Book With Us is switched ON in Configuration β†’ ON/OFF. The title and reasons are managed under Configuration β†’ Why Book With Us.
πŸ’‘ Good reasons to include Instant ticket delivery, secure payment, free cancellation, expert guides, small groups, best-price guarantee and 24/7 support are all strong trust signals.

πŸ™ˆ Hidden Post

A Hidden Post is a tour that is created and fully bookable but intentionally kept out of normal listings and search results. It is useful for private events, invite-only tours or exclusive experiences you sell only via a direct link.

πŸ”’ What β€œhidden” means

  • The tour does not appear in the tour list / booking listing.
  • The tour is excluded from category, location and search results.
  • The tour page itself still works when accessed directly by its URL.
  • Booking, tickets, seats and checkout behave exactly like a normal tour.

πŸ”— How to use it

  1. Create the tour as usual with all its configuration.
  2. Mark it as hidden.
  3. Share the direct tour URL (or a booking shortcode pointing to the tour's post_id) with the people who should be able to book it.
πŸ’‘ Combine with a post_id shortcode Use [abptt-booking post_id="123"] on a private page to give a specific audience a booking experience for a hidden tour without exposing it site-wide.

πŸ“‹ Orders List

The Orders List screen provides a centralized overview of all tour bookings and ticket orders. Search, filter, track and manage guest bookings from a single dashboard with advanced filtering, status tabs, pricing and payment details.

πŸ”Ž Advanced Order Filtering

A powerful filtering system lets you narrow down bookings by tour, date, location and order date.

Filter Description
Tour Filter bookings by a specific tour.
Tour Date Search bookings for a specific tour date.
Tour Date Between Search bookings within a selected date range.
Location Filter bookings by the selected tour location.
Order Date Filter bookings based on the order creation date.

πŸ“Š Booking Status Tabs

Separate status tabs let you view bookings according to their current booking and payment status.

Tab Description
All BookingView all bookings regardless of status.
Booking CompletedBookings that have been successfully completed.
Pending PaymentBookings waiting for payment confirmation.
ProcessingBookings currently being processed.
On HoldBookings placed on hold.
CompletedOrders marked as fully completed.
CancelledCancelled bookings.
RefundedBookings that have been refunded.

Each order row displays key booking details at a glance.

  • Date & Time β€” the selected tour date and time slot.
  • Ticket Info β€” selected ticket types or seats, quantities and ticket prices.
  • Additional Info β€” additional services or other booking-related information.

πŸ’° Order & Payment Information

  • Price β€” the base ticket or order price.
  • Additional β€” additional service charges.
  • Total β€” the final booking amount.
  • Payment Method β€” the payment method used for the booking.
  • Status β€” the current order status.

πŸ‘€ Customer & Billing Information

  • View customer billing name and email information.
  • Access billing details associated with each booking.

πŸ“‹ Order Management

  • View complete booking information from the centralized order table.
  • Track booking and payment status quickly.
  • Review date, ticket, guest and pricing information.
  • Access detailed order information when required.
ℹ️ Where orders come from Every frontend booking creates a WooCommerce order. Paid orders (according to the Booked Status setting) reduce the available tickets or seats, so the Orders list is always in sync with tour availability.
Orders list

🎫 Ticket / Seat Plan Configuration

The Ticket / Seat Plan system lets you create and manage reusable ticket types, decorative layout items and interactive seat plans. Build a seat plan once and assign it to multiple tours while maintaining full control over seat types, layout dimensions and numbering.

🎫 Ticket Type Management

Define reusable ticket types that can be shared across multiple tours and seat plans.

  • Create and manage dynamic ticket types for use across tours.
  • Define ticket names, icons, colors and ticket prefixes.
  • Use different ticket types such as Ticket, VIP, Business Class, Special, Couple, Female, Adult, Child and Economy.
  • Reuse the same ticket types across multiple seat plans and tours.
  • Configure ticket types according to your booking requirements.

🎨 Decor Item Management

Decor items represent non-seat elements of the layout β€” doors, aisles, windows and so on.

  • Create and manage decorative items for seat plan layouts.
  • Use items such as Driver Seat, Door Entry, Stairs, Aisle/Walkway, Window, Engine Box, Toilet, Luggage Rack, Food/Snacks and Emergency Exit.
  • Arrange decorative elements to represent the real layout.
  • Use decor items for visual organisation without treating them as passenger seats.

πŸ’Ί Reusable Seat Plans

Create a seat layout once and assign it to multiple tours. This reduces repetitive work when the same arrangement is shared by different events.

  • Create and manage multiple reusable seat plans.
  • Assign a seat plan to multiple tours.
  • Automatically calculate the total number of available seats.
  • Automatically identify and count assigned ticket types.
  • View seat type quantities directly from the seat plan list.
  • Duplicate or manage existing seat plans when needed.

βš™οΈ Global Configuration Overview

The Configuration tab is the control centre of ABP Tour & Travel. It combines the plugin-wide settings (label, slug, feature switches, contact details, colors) with the reusable global data that every tour can share.

🧩 What belongs here

Group Contents
Tour settings Tour label, slug, currency and store settings.
ON/OFF Master switches for every feature area of the plugin.
Dates Global date format, sale buffer and advance-booking window.
Reusable data Locations, Categories, Organizers, Guides, Features, Additional Services, Traveler Forms, FAQ, Terms & Conditions and Why Book With Us reasons.

πŸ’‘ Configure globally, override per tour Build the reusable lists once here. When you create a tour you import them and can then fine-tune prices and selections for that specific tour.
Global configuration

πŸ”› On / Off Features

Configuration β†’ ON/OFF is the master control panel of the plugin. Every feature is listed with a simple switch. Each switch controls a whole feature area of the site β€” not just one tour.

🟒

Switch ON (default)

The feature is active everywhere. You see its menus, its global lists and its fields on the tour edit page.

βšͺ

Switch OFF

The feature is completely hidden from the whole site β€” its menus, forms and fields disappear. This keeps your admin screen clean and shows only what you use.

πŸŽ›οΈ Popular switches you may want to change

Switch Turn it OFF when…
Seat Plan You only sell tickets by quantity and never need reserved seating.
Category / Operator You don't classify tours β€” hides their menus and tour fields.
Additional Services You have no extras (meals, merchandise) to sell.
Traveler Form You don't need to collect guest names/details at checkout.
FAQ / Terms & Conditions You don't need these blocks on the tour page.

🟒 Extra tour-page sections (turn ON to show)

  • Tour Timeline β€” time-by-time itinerary section.
  • Tour Guide β€” guide profiles and public guide pages.
  • Google Location Map β€” map for the tour location.
  • Why Book With Us β€” trust-building reasons section.
πŸ’‘ Experiment safely You can change the switches at any time. Turning a feature back ON restores its menus and tour fields instantly.
⚠️ Remove All Data on Uninstall This switch is OFF by default so your data is preserved if you uninstall. Turn it ON only if you really want everything deleted on uninstall.

🌐 Reusable Global Data

The Configuration tab gives you a centralized place to manage reusable data and common settings for the whole booking system. Instead of configuring the same information repeatedly for individual tours, you can define commonly used data globally and reuse it throughout your tours.

Global configuration helps maintain consistent data across tours while reducing repetitive setup and simplifying the management of locations, schedules, tickets, guests, services and other booking-related information.

🌍 Centralized Global Configuration

  • Manage commonly used booking data from one centralized location
  • Create reusable configurations for multiple tours
  • Reduce repetitive data entry and configuration work
  • Maintain consistent information throughout the booking system

πŸ—“οΈ Global Dates

Global Dates set the shared rules that apply to scheduling across the whole plugin β€” how dates are formatted and how far ahead (and how close to the event) customers may book.

🧩 What you configure

Date format How dates are displayed on the frontend and in the admin.
Advance booking The maximum number of days ahead a customer may book a date.
Sale buffer A minimum lead time before the event so you don't sell too late.
ℹ️ Global defaults, per-tour dates These settings provide the defaults and limits. The actual dates each tour runs are still set on the tour's Date tab.

πŸ“ Locations

Locations are the reusable places where tours happen or where customers meet. Create them once and select them on any tour β€” they can be used as a filter on the frontend tour listing as well.

🧩 What a location contains

Title The location name (e.g. β€œCentral Park Amphitheatre”).
Address Street address shown on the tour page.
Map / coordinates Used by the Google Location Map section on the tour page.
Image Optional illustration for the location.

πŸ”— Where locations are used

  • Selected on the tour's General tab.
  • Available as a filter on the frontend tour listing.
  • Shown with a map when the Google Location Map switch is ON.

🏷️ Categories

Categories classify your tours (Concerts, Theaters, Festivals, Tours…) so customers can browse and filter the listing. This section only appears when the Category switch is ON in Configuration β†’ ON/OFF.

🧩 What a category contains

  • A name shown in listings and filters.
  • An optional image / icon for category cards.
  • An optional description.

πŸ”— Where categories are used

  • Selected on each tour's General tab.
  • Used as a filter on the frontend tour listing.
  • Usable as a parameter (cat_id) in listing shortcodes.

🏒 Organizers

Organizers (also called operators) are the companies or people behind a tour. Create them once and select them on any tour. This section only appears when the Operator / Organizer switch is ON in Configuration β†’ ON/OFF.

🧩 What an organizer contains

Name The organizer / company name.
Logo / image Brand mark shown with the tour.
Contact Optional phone, e-mail and website.
Description Short introduction to the organizer.

πŸ”— Where organizers are used

  • Selected on each tour's General tab.
  • Available as a filter on the frontend listing.
  • Usable as a parameter (organizer_id) in listing shortcodes.

πŸ§‘β€πŸ« Guides

Guides are reusable professional profiles you link to tours. Each guide has a photo, bio, designation, company, website and social links, and each one also gets a public profile page. Shown when the Tour Guide switch is ON.

🧩 Guide profile fields

Name The guide's display name.
Photo Profile image used on the tour page and profile page.
Designation Role or title.
Company Optional organisation.
Bio Short introduction / biography.
Website & social Links to the guide's website and social profiles.

πŸ”— Assigning guides to tours

  • Create the profiles here under Configuration β†’ Guides.
  • On a tour, open the Guides tab and select the guide(s).
  • Guides appear below the timeline on the tour page and link to their profile page.

πŸ”— Features

Features are short highlight badges shown on the tour page β€” for example E-Ticket, VIP Access, Parking, Wheelchair Accessible or Free Cancellation.

🧩 What a feature contains

  • A title β€” the short badge label.
  • An icon β€” an icon or emoji shown next to the label.
  • Optional supporting detail if configured.

πŸ”— Where features are used

  • Selected on each tour's General tab.
  • Displayed as badges on the tour page to communicate what's included.
  • Reusable across every tour that shares the same amenities.

🧰 Additional Services

Build a reusable library of optional paid add-ons here β€” meals, merchandise, transfers, guided extras and so on. Import them into any tour and adjust price and quantity per tour.

🧩 What a service contains

Title The service name shown to customers.
Description Optional detail about the service.
Price Default price added when the service is selected.
Quantity / Limit How many are available (stock).
πŸ’‘ Import then override The global price is only a starting point. On each tour you can change the price and quantity to match that event, without touching the global library.

πŸ“‹ Traveler Forms

Define the reusable traveler information fields collected at checkout. Import the global form into a tour and customise it there if that tour needs different details.

🧩 Field options

  • Choose a field type (text, e-mail, phone, number, date, select, textarea).
  • Set a label and placeholder.
  • Mark the field required or optional.
  • Reorder fields to match your booking flow.

πŸ‘₯ Typical fields

  • Full name, e-mail and phone number
  • Age or date of birth (for age-restricted events)
  • Passport / ID number (for travel experiences)
  • Dietary requirements or accessibility notes
ℹ️ Global vs. tour-specific Keep it simple here for the fields shared by every tour; add tour-only fields on the tour's Traveler Forms tab after importing.

❓ FAQ

Maintain a reusable bank of frequently asked questions and answers here, then import it into any tour. Each entry is a question paired with its answer.

🧩 Structure

  • Question β€” the customer's question.
  • Answer β€” the response shown when the question is expanded.
  • Order the entries so the most important questions come first.

πŸš€ Examples

  • β€œDo I need to print my ticket?”
  • β€œWhat happens if it rains?”
  • β€œIs there an age restriction?”
  • β€œCan I get a refund?”
πŸ’‘ One bank, many tours Keep generic questions here and add only event-specific questions per tour after importing.

πŸ“œ Terms & Conditions

Maintain your reusable global Terms & Conditions here. Import them into any tour so every booking page shows a consistent policy.

πŸ“ What to include

  • Booking confirmation rules
  • Cancellation, refund and rescheduling policy
  • Late arrival / no-show policy
  • Age restrictions and entry requirements
  • Liability and conduct statements
ℹ️ Import to override Importing the global terms into a tour copies the text onto the tour. Editing it there does not change the global version.

⭐ Why Book With Us

Configure the title and the reusable reasons for the β€œWhy Book With Us” section that appears on the tour page when the feature is switched ON.

🧩 Structure

Section title The heading shown above the reasons.
Reason icon Icon or emoji that illustrates the reason.
Reason title A short headline such as β€œInstant E-Ticket”.
Reason description A sentence explaining the benefit.

πŸš€ Strong reasons to include

  • Instant ticket delivery
  • Secure payment
  • Free cancellation
  • Expert guides
  • Small groups
  • Best-price guarantee
  • 24/7 customer support
ℹ️ Enable the section Remember to switch Why Book With Us ON in Configuration β†’ ON/OFF for the section to appear on tour pages.

πŸ–ΌοΈ Slider

The Slider settings control how tour images are presented β€” as a gallery grid or a slider with a popup viewer, including the auto-play timing and navigation behaviour.

🧩 What you configure

  • Display style β€” gallery or slider.
  • Autoplay β€” whether the slider advances automatically and the delay between slides.
  • Navigation β€” arrows and the image indicator strip.
  • Popup viewer β€” clicking an image opens it in a full-screen popup with next / previous navigation.
πŸ’‘ Per-tour images The images themselves live on each tour (the gallery / featured images). These settings only control how they are displayed across the site.

πŸ“ž Contact Information

Store your company contact details once here. They are used across the booking experience and are a convenient reference for customers.

🧩 What to fill in

Company name The business name shown to customers.
Address Your business / contact address.
Phone Support or booking phone number.
E-mail Contact e-mail address.

🎨 CSS Property

Match the booking interface to your brand without writing code. Define your colors and font settings here and they are applied to the plugin's frontend elements.

🧩 What you can set

  • Primary color β€” buttons, links and highlights.
  • Secondary / accent color β€” secondary actions and badges.
  • Text color β€” body text on the booking pages.
  • Font family and size β€” typography of the interface.
ℹ️ Live preview Changes apply on the next page load, so you can tweak a value, refresh the frontend and see the result immediately.
⚠️ Theme conflicts If your theme overrides these styles, use the theme's custom CSS or a child theme to raise specificity β€” the plugin's own selectors are scoped to its components.

πŸ‘€ My Account

The plugin adds a Tour Bookings section to the WooCommerce My Account page so logged-in customers can review the bookings they have made.

🧩 What customers see

  • A list of their own tour bookings only.
  • Booking status and details for each order.
  • The selected tour, date and time.
  • Ticket / seat and guest information.
  • A paginated list for customers with many bookings.
ℹ️ Login required The section is visible only to logged-in customers and only ever shows the bookings that belong to that customer.
πŸ’‘ Confirmation e-mails Standard WooCommerce order e-mails are sent for each booking, so customers also receive their confirmation in their inbox.

πŸ“₯ Demo Import

New to the plugin? Demo Import fills your site with a ready-made set of sample tours (with locations, categories, ticket types, seat plans and images) so you can explore every feature safely before adding your own content.

⚠️ Best on a fresh site The demo data creates new posts and taxonomies. Import it before you build your own catalog, or remove it again afterwards, to avoid mixing sample content with live tours.

πŸ“¦ What gets imported

  • Sample tours with images, descriptions and schedules
  • Sample locations and categories
  • Sample ticket types and seat plans
  • Supporting configuration for the samples

πŸ”„ Removing the demo data

The same screen includes a Remove option that deletes the demo content and its imported media in one step, leaving your own content untouched. The plugin marks demo items internally so only demo data is removed.

πŸ’‘ Explore, then remove Import the demo, click through tours, tickets, seat selection and checkout to learn the flow β€” then remove the demo data and start building for real.

Template Override System

ABP Tour & Travel provides a flexible template override system that lets you customise the frontend structure, layout, styling and other template elements to match your website's requirements.

πŸ› οΈ Template Override

To start customising the plugin templates, copy the tt_templates folder from the plugin directory and paste it into your wp-content directory. Once the custom template folder is detected, the plugin loads your customised template files instead of the corresponding default plugin templates.

πŸ“ Customise Only the Required Templates

You do not need to keep every template file in the copied folder. Keep only the files you actually want to customise and remove any unnecessary files. This allows the plugin to continue using its default templates for all other sections and makes future template maintenance easier.

🎨 Timeline Themes

The timeline ships with multiple built-in styles (default, light, modern). The active style is chosen in the plugin settings and its template can also be overridden from the same tt_templates folder.

πŸ”„ Plugin Updates & Template Overrides

Custom template files are not automatically updated when the plugin is updated. If a new plugin version introduces changes to the default templates, compare your overridden files with the latest plugin templates and update your customisations when necessary.

⚠️ Keeping unnecessary overrides Keeping unnecessary template files in the override folder may cause conflicts with new templates, features or structural changes introduced in future plugin updates. Only override the files that require customisation.

⚠️ Development Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of WordPress template structure is recommended.
  • Basic PHP and HTML knowledge may be required for template customisation.
  • Make changes carefully and test customised templates after plugin updates.
  • Always keep a backup of your customised templates before making major changes.
⚠️ Important Template overrides are intended for advanced customisation. Incorrect changes to PHP, HTML, template structure or required plugin variables may cause frontend errors or unexpected behaviour. Only modify files and code that you understand.

🌐 Translation

ABP Tour & Travel is fully translation-ready and can be translated using any WordPress translation plugin that supports standard WordPress translation files. For the easiest workflow, we recommend using Loco Translate.

πŸ”€ Translate ABP Tour & Travel

Follow these steps to create a translation for your preferred language using Loco Translate:

  1. Install Loco Translate β€” Go to Plugins β†’ Add New, search for Loco Translate, then install and activate the plugin.
  2. Open the plugin β€” Navigate to Loco Translate β†’ Plugins and select ABP Tour & Travel.
  3. Create a translation β€” Choose an existing language or click New language to create a translation for your preferred language, then select the appropriate translation location and create the translation file.
  4. Sync and translate β€” Click Sync to load the latest translatable strings from the plugin, translate the required strings, and click Save.

πŸ”„ Updating Translation Strings

When the plugin is updated and new translatable strings are added, open the corresponding translation in Loco Translate and click Sync to update the translation catalog. You can then translate any newly added or modified strings and save the changes.

πŸ’‘ Translation Notes

  • ABP Tour & Travel uses standard WordPress translation functions and is translation-ready.
  • Plugin interface text and other registered translatable strings can be translated through Loco Translate or another compatible translation plugin.
  • Dynamic content entered by administrators β€” tour names, location names, ticket names and custom descriptions β€” may require separate translation depending on how the content is created and displayed.
  • Documentation content is not automatically translated through the plugin's translation files.

πŸ›‘οΈ Keep Your Translations Safe

To prevent translations from being overwritten during plugin updates, avoid storing customised translation files directly inside the plugin's own directory. Use the custom or system-protected translation location provided by Loco Translate whenever possible.

⚠️ After updating After updating the plugin, always use the Sync option to check for new translation strings and review your translations before saving.
